General Information
The regatta will offer two "levels" of racing: participation-based where crews are drawn from a random pool and open events where crews can self select, or be drawn from the pool. The participation based events will most likely be held in regulation boats (known in the northern hemisphere as C boats). The quad event may be an exception to this category.
The following are the projected boat categories:
- 1x MF (participation and open)
- 4x+ MFX (participation and open)
- 4+ MF (participation and open)
- 8+ MFX (participation and/or just open)
Racing will be run over a 400m. course in a time trial format with the two fastest crews in each category racing off for gold and silver medals.
It is envisioned that racing will begin around 4.30pm and finish by 7.00pm. Rowers will retire to either the Richmond Rowing Club or the Yarra Yarra RC to witness an authentic Australian butchering of the pig followed immediately by the consumption of copious quantities of alcoholic beverages. Rowers will then behold (with the exception of the pig) the setting sun over the magnificent City of Melbourne

03 Jan 2008 - Last call for registration. The Dash is almost fully subscribed. Any last minute rowers are encouraged to register as soon as possible to ensure they will have a seat. Registration for all sports events will close on 15 Jan.
