Miami Beach, Florida
United States
GLRF is pleased to partner with the Miami Beach Rowing Club to host our first high performance training camp. Developed for experienced rowers, both individuals and club squads will have the opportunity to enhance their rowing technique, and to develop drills, training routines, and goals to take home with them to apply to their spring training
Who should attend? Men and women!
Juniors
University
Competitive Masters
Open Rowers
This is a camp for serious rowers with at least two full seasons of rowing and racing experience. With that said, rowers with less than 2 seasons, who have a significant amount of water time and race experience, are encouraged to attend.
7 On the water sessions
All camp participants will row twice a day except the last day. Participants will row in both sweep and scull depending on their abilities, their boat and style preferences, and the number of participants. Preliminary schedule:
morning session: 10:00h. - 12:00h.
lunch break: 12:00h. - 14:30h.
afternoon session: 14:30h. - 16:30h.
Large and Small Boat Component
Participants will have the opportunity to refine their sweep and scull techniques in both large and small boats. Depending on the skill and preferences of the camp participants, the large boats may include (2) 8+ or (1) 4+ and (1) 4x, or some mix therein.
Please note: MBRC has a limited availability of small boats: (2) 2x and (4) 1x. We will offer a daily sign up for participants so that everyone who wants to row in a small boat will have the opportunity. We cannot guarantee that each participant will be able to row in a small boat in each session.
Low Rower to Coach Ratio
Part of the value of this high performance camp is the low rower to coach ratio. One coach will be assigned to two large boats for each session, and one coach will be dedicated to the small boat session.
