GLRF 2012 Miami Rowing Festival

Miami Winter Rowing Festival

17 - 20 Feb 2012
Miami Beach, Florida
United States

GLRF is pleased to partner with the Miami Beach Rowing Club to host our third winter training camp. Designed for experienced rowers, both individuals and club squads will have the opportunity to enhance their rowing technique, and to develop drills, training routines, and goals to take home with them to apply to their spring training

Stay up to date: join the group on the GLRF All Oars Network

Who should attend? Men and women!
  • Juniors
  • University
  • Competitive Masters
  • Open Rowers

This is a camp for serious rowers with at least two full seasons of rowing experience.  With that said, rowers with less than 2 seasons, who have a significant amount of water time and race experience, are encouraged to attend.

6 On the water sessions

All camp participants will row twice a day except Sunday and Monday. Participants will row in both sweep and scull depending on their abilities, their boat and style preferences, and the number of participants.

Boat Component

Participants will have the opportunity to refine their sweep and scull techniques in large boats. Depending on the skill and preferences of the camp participants, the boats may include (2) 8+ or (1) 4+ and (1) 4x, or some mix therein.

Please note: because of the challenge of coaching both small and large boats, we have eliminated the small boat component.

Low Rower to Coach Ratio

Part of the value of the winter training camp is the low rower to coach ratio. One coach will be assigned to two large boats for each session, and one coach will be dedicated to any small boat sessions.
