Stonewall XIX Regatta

General Information - Updated 26 May 2012

The Stonewall Regatta Organizing Committee and the DC Strokes Rowing Club invite rowers to compete at the Stonewall XIX Regatta.

Stonewall is the only lgbt-sponsored regatta in the United States. The event helps kick off the mid-Atlantic adult sprint racing season and serves to connect groups from different backgrounds and different geographic regions. Teams enter from private clubs, the armed forces, and other lgbt crews.

The regatta returns to a one 1,000m competition course this year:

  • A 5-lane, 1,000m. course will start downstream from the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge, pass underneath the bridge and finish upstream, opposite the new boathouse.
  • Launch/recover: Anacostia Community Boathouse
  • First race 08:30h. and last race 16:04h.
  • Course: 1,000 meter finals-only open sprint race and 1,000 meter finals-only masters sprint race
  • Boat entries: 1x, 2-, 2x, 4x, 4+, and 8+
  • Category entries for adaptive, novice, masters, open, and mixed
  • USRowing masters categories: A - J; AA rowers can compete but there are no dedicated AA events.
  • Adaptive categories: Men/Women, and Mixed; 1X and 2x LTA, TA, and A
Entry Information

Deadline to register is 26 May 2012 at Regatta Central. .  Contact the registrar with questions: registrar [at] stonewallregatta[dot]org

Notes on registration: the system is designed to submit entries for a given boat through a club or a coach unless you plan to row in a single. For rowers coming from overseas who would like to enter an entire boat, your boat captain should create an account with Regatta Central and register your names. Online payments are accepted in multiple currencies.  For any individual rowers who would like to race in a boat, you don’t need to register with Regatta Central. The boat captain or the coach will register your name. To find a seat in a boat, list yourself in the GLRF Seat Search service
