DESCRIPTION:Registration is open for the 2024 Eurogames Rowing Regatta.
Rowing is one of thirty-five sports offered at the 2024 Eurogames. The Eu
rogames is licensed by the European Gay and Lesbian Sports Federation (ELG
SF) and European cities bid on the right to host the Eurogames. The multi
-day event is targeted for the LGBT+ community but everyone is welcome to
participate. The 2024 Eurogames will be held in Vienna\, Austria from 17
July - 20 July 2024. The rowing regatta will be held over two days\, from
19 - 20 July 2024. There is currently no information about a training da
y on Thursday\, 18 July. Also\, if you read the fine print on the sports
page\, at the bottom\, 'Cancellation of competitions and merging of catego
ries by April 30\, 2024\,' the text indicates that the registration websit
e will indicate the minimum and maximum (if declared) of fully paid partic
ipants. We interpret this to mean that if rowing does not get a certain m
inimum number of participants\, it will be cancelled. We visited the regi
stration website and there is NO indication of a minimum number of partici
pants\, even as we went through the registration process. We will try to g

come to the conclusion that the 2021 Sin City Erg event must be cancelled
due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. You can read the reasons for our d

y Erg! Update 16 Aug 2020: we will continue to maintain this event as a p
ossibility through October in case there are some last minute medical deve

\, involves rowing machines lined up close to each other in an indoor spac

017 Panteresports. It will be held in Barcelona\, the 17/09/2017. Partici

have a housin service in case you need it.The boat we will use\, the CATAL
AN LLAGUT\, is an 8 people fixed seat boat. You'll love it! It is the per
fect excuse to come and visit such a great city as Barcelona while doing a

Rowing Federation (KNRB) is sponsoring a tug-powered pontoon barge (21.4m
x 4.5m) in the 2016 Canal Parade through the Amsterdam canals during Amst
erdam Gay Pride. The theme of the boat is 'Join our freedom\, feel free to
join us!' These \"floats\" in the Amsterdam pride parade are large flat
barges that can accommodate up to 100 people! Check out this link that ex
plains the details of the Canal Parade. The KNRB boat is number 37 on the
list. Everyone gets decked out in their best gay pride outfits and dance
s on the barges as it glides through the Amsterdam canals. The boat is st
ocked with liquor and is included in the ticket price. You can buy ticke

Amsterdam Gay Pride event\, and this year it will be even bigger because t

ds) are invited to join a special rowing tour through the center of Amster
dam. Participants will have an opportunity to see the areas and landmarks
that played a role in the Amsterdam LGBT emancipation during the last cen
tury. Of course\, rowers will also have a chance to see some of the many
of the areas that Amsterdam can offer to its visitors. Every tour will
be presented in a relaxed manner so that you can enjoy the sights and sou
nds of Amsterdam but of course rowers will also have an opportunity to wor
k on their rowing technique! Rowers will put to the water in classic Euro
pean\, wide beam C-boats. Participants can choose if they want to choose
sweep or sculling rowing technique. Two different tours will be offered:
one for experienced rowers and one for novices and new-to-rowing folk. Al
l tours are guided and coxed by an instructor from the Roeicentrum rowing

GLRF has scheduled a series of City Launch events to create awareness of GLRF among gay and lesbian rowers and to create greater awareness of rowing among the gay and lesbian community in each City.

The Chicago rowing and not-rowing-yet community (gay and straight) are cordially invited Learn about the Danish inrigger boat here. These Viking-like sturdy sea worthy boats might be a tad heavy, but once going, they are the fastest vessels in the inner habour (motorised vessels are subject to speed limits!).
The Copenhagen Head of the Harbour will offer one race formats: 6 km.
Entries will be offered for open (any mix of men and women), women only, and transgender. There will be no age categories. Competition is not open to novices. All participants must be a member of a rowing club or association.
Boat Availability and Hiring Fees
We are trying to keep the costs down for all participants by not having to ask for additional boat hiring fees. In the Mermaid Regatta in 2003 we managed to borrow a decent standard of competition shells from the local rowing clubs and only had to ensure that all boats were insured. Currently we are working with the Outgames to ensure that the registration fees would also cover the boat insurance.
Update: Due to participant request, the regatta organizing committee has been able to confirm the availability of coxed fours (4+) for the sprint competition. Please note: because of limited availability, the 4+ boats will come with either bow loader or stern seat configurations. Please ensure your coxies have experience in both configurations. Remember that your practice boat may not be your racing boat.
