2012 GLRF Miami Rowing Festival available for registration
Now in its third year, the GLRF 2012 Miami Rowing Festival is scheduled for 17 - 20 Feb 2012. Step out of that mid-winter cold and into the sumptuous sun of Miami Beach, Florida. The festival is presented for GLRF members and is designed for experienced rowers. Both individuals and club squads will have the opportunity to enhance their rowing technique, and to develop drills, training routines, and goals to take home with them to apply to their spring training.
The price remains the same as 2011, $210 for OnTheWater members, and $245 for Shoreside members. The package includes coaching and 6 on-the-water sessions. Lodging, meals, and airfare is not included. A $150 partially refundable insurance deposit is also charged to all participants. GLRF in Venice: Vogalonga 2012
Interested in rowing around the island of Venice? The 2012 Vogalonga, a celebration of rowing and paddling, that starts and ends in the Grand Canal, and takes participants around and through the inner and outer islands of the Venetian island chain is just 6 months away. If you're interested, we need to start the planning and coordinating for boats.
To throw your name in the hat, please join the Vogalonga All Oars Network group and save the date/weekend: 27 May 2012. We need to see if there is enough interest in order to begin contacting the local clubs to borrow boats, and we will need lots of help to coordinate this event. Take a look at the GLRF images of the 2011 Vogalonga event. Not quite sure if you can do it? Then visit the Vogalonga group and simply click on the 'Like' button to receive news updates as the planning gets rolling.

GLRF OnTheWater members will have an advance access to the special prices, starting on the 11th of December. Inventory is what we have on hand so when it is gone, it is gone. GLRF on your mobile phone
Although we don't have a complete mobile app for the entire GLRF website [yet], you can view the GLRF All Oars Network on your mobile phone. Just use this quick link on your mobile: http://mobile.glrf.info and the GLRF social network will sense the phone environment and switch the 'skins' when it displays the All Oars Network. Checking your emails from your mobile phone? No problem! If you receive a GLRF Personal Message (PM) notification, just click on the link and your mobile phone will take you to the mobile login screen and then to the PM.
This feature is great for those who follow one or more groups on the All Oars Network, follow their friends' status updates, as well as those who want to update their own status on the fly.
