Just saw this from a GLRF rower.  Rowing has been canceled. Shame we had to find out in such a roundabout way.  We emailed them in June, and in July and in October with no replies.  They never ever contacted us even though they added our logo (without permission) to their rowing sports page.  Their bid for the 2026 Gay Games specifically stated that they would be working closely with the Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation.  

The lack of interest is not surprising since most of the gay rowing community are focused on sliding seat rowing, and the featured Valencia rowing sport was open ocean and fixed seat. Tough to transition from flat water rowing in a small shell to a large boat with a large freeboard and choppy waves.  It is still a sport, to be sure but not something you can just jump in and find real pleasure.
