2008 PARIS REGATE

2008 TdP Régate en aller-retour

11 May 2008
venue: Base Nautique de Choisy-le-Roi (location)
    Choisy-le-Roi, Val-de-Marne
France
General Information

Pictures of the basin are visible to the right. The basin is 1800 meters long and is used mainly as a multi purpose recreational facility: rowing, windsurfing, sailing, canoe, kayak, and fishing.

A picnic, organized by the gay sailing club, Voile et Croisière en Liberté , will follow the race at 1300h at the basin. Spectators will have access to the large, sunny deck at the boathouse to soak in the rays and watch the race. There is no charge to watch the race.

Race Information

Rowers are invited to compete in a friendly and informal head-style relay, otherwise known as a stake race (régate au piquet). The race will take the form of a 3,000 meter head race along a 1,500 meter course. Boats will turn around a buoy at the far end of the basin and race back to the starting line.

  • One category of competition will be offered: 4x+.

Rowers will gather at 09:00h. for lineups and a coxswain meeting. Racing will follow. Results will be posted at 13:00h.

Boat Information

Boats will be available for use by all competitors. At the present time, there are no practice sessions scheduled or available. Use of the boats is included in the entry fee.

Entry Information

Due to to rules of the umbrella organizer, Tournoi de Paris, registration will officially close on 31 Mar 2008. However, there are indications that rowing registrations will be taken after the closing date, as a supplement to the official site but there is no guarantee.

Cost is Euro 20 per person. A nominal coxswain entry fee of Euro 5 is required due to the structure of the multi-sport event. If the coxie will be rowing as a competitor in another race, there isn’t a double fee.

Teams are encouraged to develop their own rosters in advance, locally or with the GLRF Seat Search service. Unseated entries will be placed on Sunday morning at the coxswain’s (fr. barreur) meeting
