Our next rowing social will be to celebrate the Oxford vs Cambridge boat race on Saturday 26th March, in Furnivall Gardens.

There will be a big screen showing the the race, and stalls selling food and drink. Furnivall will be putting on a BBQ where hot dogs, burgers etc will be available. (Further details)

We'll be in the park, near the big screen from 3.30PM; the boat race itself is at 5PM. For those of you who haven't met us before or are coming along for the first time a couple of us will be wearing red; all are welcome, regardless of which club you are from and you're welcome to bring friends too. There will be a beer tent on the day but it tends to get quite busy so I reccomend you bring some with you purchased in advance, and something to sit on if the ground is damp.

If the weather is very poor we'll retreat to the Hope and Anchor pub which is just the other side of the main road from Furnivall Gardens (Map)

For those of you who drive please note that most visitor parking is suspended in the area on race day. I'd reccomend using public transport, but this also gets extremely busy on race day and arrving in good time is essential. Please also note that Hammersmith Bridge is closed to all traffic, including pedestrians, in the run up to and during the race itself, so you'll need to be on the right side of the river in good time.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 26th for an afternoon out to watch the boat race!
