Rowing festival – in the modern world, a day or days set aside by a club, city, state, or country for the worship of rowing gods. Although festivals have been associated, in some aspect with a religious practice, a rowing festival is a purely secular activity, marked by frequent occasions of stroking, feathering, general merrymaking and gaiety. Feasting, athletics, play-acting, and bawdiness are all considered appropriate constituents of rowing festivals.

GLRF, in partnership with the Miami Beach Rowing Club, is proud to sponsor the 2012 Miami Rowing Festival 17 – 20 Feb 2011. Join us for four days of sumptuous sun, twice a day rowing, and frolic in the warm waters of Miami Beach, Florida. Serious rowing squads as well as recreational rowers are most welcome!

  • Unfortunately, we have not reached the minimum number of registrants to host the 2012 GLRF Miami Rowing Festival.

    Therefore, we have to cancel the event for this year.

    Please provide some feedback on what you would like to see to make the event a success in the coming years.

  • GLRF members can now register for the 2012 Miami Rowing Festival, now in its third year, hosted at the Miami Beach Rowing Club.

    Prices for registration have remained the same:

    GLRF OnTheWater members: $360 (which includes a partially refundable insurance deposit of $150)

    GLRF Shoreside members: $395 (which includes a partially refundable insurance deposit of $150)

    Regular registration will stay open until the end of December. Late registration will open on 01 Jan 2012, and will include an extra $50 cost.

  • GLRF is pleased to announce the third winter training camp at the Miami Beach Rowing Club, 17 - 20 Feb 2012.

    Registration will open in early November. Based on at least 8 registrations, and hopefully upwards of 30 something, we anticipate the cost to be the same as last year: $410 for OnTheWater and $445 for Shoreside, with $150 set aside for the insurance pool.
